The small car will be upgraded to an SUV and will start at 28,990 euros for the electric version, making it one of the cheapest electric cars in the country. In addition to smaller cars such as the Renault Twingo and Dacia Spring, it is now being pushed out by its corporate siblings such as the Citroën ë-C3.
The Frontera is 4.38 metres long, has five seats and a boot space of between 460 and 1,600 litres. Opel says the E version will have 83kW/113hp and a 44kWh battery for a range of up to 305km on the standard cycle.
The Frontera, with its more conventional drives, will be even cheaper.
As with most current Stellantis models, the Hessians will also offer the car with an internal combustion engine, thereby bringing the price down to €23,900, and the 74kW/100hp petrol engine is a mild hybrid combined with a small electric motor, which also has a small buffer battery, meaning the petrol Frontera can also travel at least a few metres on electric power, the manufacturer says.
