Within the new model family, MINI indicates the power level of its petrol engines for the MINI Cooper with the letter C and for the Performance Enhanced model with the letter S. The attractive powertrain range of the new MINI three-door is therefore complemented by two economical petrol engines with a choice of three or four cylinders. The brand’s iconic go-kart feel is brought to the road in the new generation MINI. The minimalist design of the new MINI Cooper is a combination of the brand’s traditional values and elegant linearity.
“At MINI, ‘Power of Choice’ means that in addition to fully electric MINI models, we also offer models such as the new MINI Cooper with a petrol engine. This car is ideal for anyone who wants to drive a classic MINI 3-door and appreciates traditional performance and the characteristic sound of an internal combustion engine,” says Stefanie Wurst, Head of MINI.
The interior emphasizes the typical MINI design, minimalistic and with new materials. Technological innovations such as the MINI Operating System 9, the new MINI Experience Modes and a variety of digital functions create an immersive user experience.
Two powerful propulsion versions.
With an output of 150 kW/204 hp, the four-cylinder engine of the MINI Cooper S (combined fuel consumption: 6.7 – 6.1 l/100 km, combined CO2 emissions: 150 – 138 g/km according to WLTP ) accelerates from 0 to 100 km /h in 6.6 seconds with a maximum torque of 300 Nm. The 115 kW/156 hp three-cylinder engine of the MINI Cooper C (combined fuel consumption: 6.5 – 5.9 l/100 km, combined CO2 emissions: 146 – 133 g/km according to WLTP) delivers a torque of 230 Nm and accelerates the vehicle from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.7 seconds.
The MINI Cooper has a suspension and damping system designed for agile handling. Precise steering typical of MINI, together with powerful brakes, ensure great driving pleasure, safety and comfort.
External: Cult position included.
With its clean design and compact silhouette, the MINI Cooper embodies the brand’s core concept: maximum driving pleasure with a minimal environmental footprint. The modern minimalism of the new design characterizes the light surface of the body. The short overhang and short bonnet contrast with the long wheelbase, giving the car typical MINI proportions.
At the front, the new octagonal grille with its filigreed contours further defines the characteristic face of the new MINI Cooper. The BMW Group’s smallest radar sensor is located on the horizontal pillar between the air intakes. A total of 12 ultrasonic sensors in the MINI Cooper support the driver assistance systems and increase driving safety.
Horizontal LED daytime running lights underline the new look in the traditional configuration. The striking appearance is further enhanced by three selectable light signals for the MINI LED daytime running lights and redesigned matrix taillights.
All three light signals that can be selected start and end with a specially planned welcoming or greeting animation.
The interior: classic, innovative, MINI.
The elegant and minimalist interior design of the new MINI Cooper is inspired by the classic Mini. The new steering wheel, round OLED screen, typical MINI control lever and two-tone cloth-covered instrument panel create a sense of space in the passenger compartment. Clean lines are the hallmark of a modern cabin with plenty of space. The wide glass roof contributes to creating a bright and welcoming atmosphere. By folding down the rear seat in a ratio of 60:40, the luggage compartment can be flexibly expanded from 210 liters up to a volume of 800 liters.
The most important driving functions (handbrake, gear selector, start/stop button, drive mode selector, volume control) are directly accessible via the MINI feature switch bar. The gear selector in the center console gives way to the new wireless charging system 2.0. Here you can store your smartphones and charge them wirelessly.
The MINI Communication Unit has been moved closer to the driver in the interior of the MINI Cooper. The diameter of the slim, high-resolution OLED screen with a high-quality glass frame is 240 mm. Its operating logic is similar to that of a smartphone and can be controlled by touch.
Information related to the vehicle, such as speed and fuel consumption, is displayed at the top of the screen. In the main menu, functions are arranged horizontally in the form of widgets and can be selected by swiping and tapping. In the lower area of the OLED screen, the menu items Navigation, Media, Telephone and Climate can be selected directly at any time.
Digital innovations for engaging user experiences.
As part of the optional MINI Experience Modes, two headlights project various illuminated graphics onto the dashboard. The combination of visual design, ambient lighting and sound design changes the appearance of the interior and opens up new possibilities for personalizing the MINI Cooper.
Each setting has its own dynamic background and can be selected based on the driver’s personal preferences. In the personal mode, you can set your own image as the background on the screen via the MINI app. The dominant colors of the image then reach into the textile surfaces of the dashboard and door panels as illuminated graphics.
Drive safe, arrive relaxed.
The new MINI Cooper offers numerous driver assistance systems for safe and comfortable driving pleasure. As standard, the Safe Exit function monitors the area around the parked vehicle and warns oncoming traffic before opening the door. The feature not only delays door opening, but also uses a light signal outside the vehicle to warn of a possible collision.
On the road, the MINI Navigation package optionally offers support for 3D and Augmented View, displays current traffic conditions, provides information on parking options, including digital payment options, and much more. Camera and radar assistance functions increase safety by supporting steering and lane keeping as part of the comprehensive Driving Assistant Plus package Automatic speed and distance control makes city driving even more comfortable.
Simply say “Hey MINI” to activate the MINI Intelligent Personal Assistant (IPA) on the OLED screen. A 3D image then appears in the form of an avatar “car” or MINI digital companion “Spike”. By interacting with the MINI IPA, the driver can use their voice to control numerous options such as navigation, phone, entertainment and other vehicle functions.
The innovative MINI Digital Key Plus function turns the smartphone into the car key via the MINI app. The welcome animation of the front and rear lights starts as soon as the driver is within three meters. the doors open when the driver is within five feet. This comfortable driving experience can be digitally transferred to different users, including personalized vehicle settings.
Four versions for a customized look.
The new Essential, Classic, Favored and JCW trim variants offer a wide range of customization options. The new MINI Cooper C and MINI Cooper S are available with different body paint and interior finishes, depending on the version chosen.
The colors can be combined with one of the four roof colors and create a variety of contrasts. A special option with the Favored Trim package is the Spray-Tech design on the signature Multitone roof. This has a three color gradient. A new aerodynamically optimized design is available for 16- to 18-inch alloy wheels.
