Lucas Zito, the lamp designer who triumphs with his sculptural models and studied luminosity

He was born and raised in Paris, but moved to Eindhoven, Holland to train at its Academy of Design. “The best school to find yourself and be free from too many influences,” he says. After the pandemic, he returned to Paris and established his atelier and his own company to produce his creations, which usually use 3D printing with biodegradable materials. “I have specializes in lighting design, not by choice but by passion. I have always been attracted to them because they have other dimensions, like the immateriality of light. The lamps embody the study of visible light, that tiny part of the electromagnetic spectrum that is not tangible but very aesthetic and that affects our sense of comfort,” he says. He adds: “You can design the shape, feel and dimensions of the lamp, but you can also draw how the light comes out of itThis year at the Collective exhibition in Brussels and also at Alcova during Milan Design Week he presented Menhirsan art-design piece, in collaboration with the Italian creator Pepe Valenti, made of steel and epoxy with internal lighting.

In the first piece of the Menhirs collection, in collaboration with Pepe Valenti, the epoxy resin blocks contain LEDs that give a diffused and strong light.
