“The theme of the project was about luxury,” says Charu, adding that the client’s strategy was “to create a retreat, celebrate the scale of the space and bring some of it indoors without making it feel cluttered.” The seating arrangement was key: “We deliberately chose this large open curve that doesn’t enclose the space but lets it in.” And he adds: “The wool chairs add depth.” With them tone-on-tone interior there’s always the risk of them looking a little off, so we put a lot of emphasis on texture to liven up the room.” The wall light is the project J’aimes by Hannah Woodhouse, the coffee table Lob it is by Christophe Delcourt for Collection Particulière and among the armchairs it is there Wulff by Jørgen Wolff from &Tradition next to the coffee table UR by Pieter Maes The floor lamp is from Arteriors.
Dining room
In this large room, Charu created a clear distinction between the living room and the dining room, choosing two different Holland Cassidy rugs to demarcate the spaces and hanging an elegant chandelier, by Christophe Delcourt, above the dining table. With the kitchen we inherited, we thought another neutral, tone-on-tone seating arrangement would feel completely washed out, so we took the plunge and requested this dark green sofa from Arteriors, Turner – to give depth to the space.” The coffee table is placed on the Holland Cassidy rug Torringtonalso by Arteriors, chair Pole by Pierre Augustin Rose and the lamp Back by Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance on the coffee table. The floor lamp is the model Putney by Arteriors.
Kitchen
The Molteni & C. kitchen and Gaggenau appliances already installed in the apartment were in excellent condition, so Elicyon decided to maintain them by installing wooden surface and granular stone in the rest of the room. They added a “Good Day Sunshine” banner by Damien Langlois-Meurinne for lunch and dinner more relaxed as a family and worked with Bill Cleyndert & Company of Norfolk to create the custom curved bench. Charu introduced a plaster arch at the entrance of the building. We wanted a light effects interesting when entering the apartment. Guest room
Color makes an unexpected appearance in this particular tonal scheme created in the guest room, where the hanging sheds Pebbles by Boris Klimek for Bomma stand out on the vinyl tabletop. The owners like very quiet interiors, but every time we showed them something that had clean lines and childlike playfulness, they were drawn to it!,” says Charu.
Double bedroom
“A striking aspect of this project is A pair of light oak bedside tables with a marble top and signature drawers with a hammered wood finish, a finish that continues on the headboard of the bed. With projects like this, there is a risk of them appearing too sophisticated,” says Charu, adding: “In this context, we liked to introduce an unexpected touch factor, with a very natural grain. We worked with Bill Cleyndert & Company to develop this texture that we think caused some movement. The goal was to maintain the unique materiality, so we could rely on this tangibility to add depth.”
