Erazer Explosives at Paris Games Week: Here’s All the New Gaming PCs

After the total renewal of the Medion Erazer brand in the simplest”Eraser“, Lenovo’s German division is ready to disconnect many products in the world of gaming PCsboth in the desktop and laptop segments.
There Paris Games Weekwhich took place between November 1 and 6, was the perfect opportunity to present Erazer’s new line of desktop computers, which this year includes some proposals designed specifically for the most demanding gamers, equipped with Fourteenth generation Intel Core CPU – so with Intel Raptor Lake Refresh architecture – and NVIDIA GPUs up to GeForce RTX 4090.
At the same time, the Paris fair was also the context for the relaunch of Erazer’s notebook proposition which, after the rebranding, aims even more determinedly at mobile gamers. In this case, however, the manufacturer has re-presented the laptops already on the market, waiting for the new generation to hit store shelves: for this to happen, however, we will have to wait until the beginning of 2024, when Intel will introduce Meteor Lake CPUs.

Erazer’s “new course”.

Before digging into Erazer’s late 2023 lineup, it’s a good idea to take a small step back. Erazer was born as a sub-brand of Mediona manufacturer of assembled PCs for games and the office founded in 1983 in Essen, which became part of the Lenovo group in 2012.

For this reason, all Erazer products released up until a few months ago have the brand “Medion Erazer”, indicating their German origin. However, everything changed at Gamescom 2023, when Erazer dropped the Medion reference and announced a total change of identity, with a new color palette and a renewed visual language. The purpose of this transition is to “inspire greater confidence in consumers and make the company more modern and even more attractive to young people“- as well as that of reduce confusion between Medion and Erazer products, Clearly. In fact, Erazer has become an independent brand, but still under the Lenovo umbrella: it is repeated by the company’s new logo and tonal colors, called “Blue“,”Dark blue“,”Aqua Blue“and”Press“, very different from that of Medion. Finally, Erazer wants to focus everything on the communitywhich especially benefits from its online platform Erazer.gghis Twitch channel and a host of contests and giveaways that unfortunately have not yet arrived in Italy.

In fact, it Erazer booth at Parys Games Week it is designed to confirm the new face of the brand and its independence. Even in this round, Erazer made a “Truck Tour”. tour, which started at the French Games Week and will continue at the Dutch Comic-Con on November 18-19 and at DreamHack Sweden on November 23-26. The Erazer’s truck is a cutting edge environmentdivided by the company into two parts and used to present its products, both with a more “technical” exhibition focused on the specifications and design of laptops and desktop computers, and with a demonstration in a less formal setting.

The Essen company did has reconstructed the “den” of every PC gamer’s dreams in his truck, which of course uses Erazer laptops and desktops, along with many accessories and products from third-party companies, ranging from TVs to the latest generation of sound systems, including gaming chairs and controllers. It is therefore not a traditional exhibition space, but a example of what your setup might look like use Erazer products, but go far beyond just the desktop. A really intriguing idea, which we hope will be replicated in the future and used as an example by other companies.

Even better: theentire “Game Room” is the focus of a giveawayfor now only reserved for French, Swedish and Dutch fans of Erazer, who will be able to participate by interacting with the company’s social profiles.

However, another part of the stand was composed of a giant driving simulator in the form of a portable computer (seeing is believing: look at the pictures!): the game chosen by the company was F1 2023, which on one of Erazer Prebuilt PCs with Raptor Lake Refresh CPUs and RTX 40 series video cards from NVIDIA. We will be back very soon.
However, the seat, the steering wheel and the pedals were by Cooler Master: the driving experience of the simulator was one of the most immersive that we had the opportunity to try recently, thanks to a large screen, a level and above all, at a hardware that represents the state of the art in the world of pre-built gaming desktops.

Erazer Enforcer X10: a desktop without compromises

The heart of the simulator was in fact a Erazer Enforcer X10, a gaming table top which, given its monstrous technical data sheet, could easily represent the dream of many gamers. There CPU is an Intel Core i9-14900K, which “rests” on a Gigabyte AORUS Elite AX Z790 motherboard and is accompanied by four banks of Kingston Fury Beast RAM of 16 GB each, for a total of 64 GB of memory. However, the storage is represented by a 2 TB WD Black SSD.
However, the star of the composition is the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 mounted by Erazer on his computer: in this case the German company chose a Gigabyte OC solution with 24 GB of VRAM. The technical sheet is rounded off with a Seasonic Prime PSU.

Also on the Erazer stand at Parys Games Week, albeit in the context of Games roomwe could then look at theErazer Hunter X30 with RTX 4080 and an Intel Core i7-14700K: this is another valuable solution, designed for the high end and for those who want to take home a pre-assembled computer that will not need modifications or upgrades for several years.
It has been confirmed to us that Erazer will also launch the Hunter X20, which shares the CPU with its older brother, but adopts the RTX 4070 Ti as its graphics solution. In both cases, the RAM is 32 GB (two banks of 16 GB each), while the storage is equal to 1 TB in the case of the Hunter X30 and 3 TB (1 TB SSD and 2 TB HDD) for the Hunter X20.

However, the other two Erazer proposals in the desktop sector were not present in Paris. The first is the company’s “entry-level” desktop, theErazer Engineer X30, equipped with Intel Core i7-14700K and an RTX 4070 video card from NVIDIA.

The PC is available in different RAM and storage configurations, all of which retain a Gigabyte B760M AORUS Elite motherboard, DDR5 RAM and a 650 W InWin power supply, depending on the configuration you choose. the cooling system will also changewhich is made by Cooler Master in the more expensive versions, as well as the device’s storage, which is available in various combinations that include an SSD for the most used documents and an HDD for long-term archiving of files.
However, the second suggestion revealed by Erazer is the top of the range Mechanic X20, very similar to the Enforcer X10 in terms of technical specifications, but equipped with a semi-transparent side panel design and RGB LEDs on all internal components.
Also in this case we therefore have an Intel Core i9-14900K CPU, an NVIDIA GeForce video card configurable up to RTX 4090, a Gigabyte Z790 motherboard, DDR5 RAM and an 800 W or even 1200 W Seasonic Vertex power supply This is a proposal reserved for the most demanding players, who – according to Erazer himself focusing on both hardware and design to convince fans.

Erazer Beast X40: liquid cooling on laptops

However, in addition to desktop computers, the Essen company also dedicated enough space to the laptop world, with around ten products on display in the French capital. Between them The Erazer Beast X40 immediately catches the eyewhose specifications make your head spin: Intel Core i9-13900K, RTX 4080 or 4090 mobile, up to 32 GB RAM at 4800 MHz and up to 2 TB SSD, plus liquid metal cooling for the processor.
All in the body of a laptop with a compartment 17″ QHD+ screen with 240 Hz refresh ratewhich is accompanied by a Cherry MX Ultra Low Profile Full RGB mechanical keyboard.

If all this is not enough for you, know that the Erazer Beast 40 is one of the few laptops that includes an external liquid cooling kit.
The latter is a real one tank for distilled water that can be connected to the computer, which drastically reduces its portability, but increases its performance by 10-15%, at least according to the data released by the manufacturer. Furthermore, to facilitate the ease of use, the laptop has an indication of the capacity level of the external tank and has a series of magnetic attachments aimed at avoiding losses of cooling liquid. Finally, to control the entire system the Medion Control Center takes care of thatwho remotely manages the Cooling Kit via Bluetooth 5.2 connection.

In addition to the top of the range, the PC Erazer range includes a range of offerings perfect for all budgets: under the BeastErazer Major X20, with an RTX 4070 GPU from NVIDIA as its graphics card, in combination with a thirteenth generation Intel i9 or i7 processor.

The storage in this case stops at 1 TB, while the RAM reaches 32 GB DDR5. The screen is also smaller, remaining a QHD+ panel at 240 Hz, but whose diagonal up to 16″. The mid-range is rather abundantly covered by Erazer’s Deputy and Defender lines, which offers configurations equipped with a twelfth or thirteenth generation Intel Core i7 and an RTX 4060 laptop with 8 GB of VRAM. Furthermore, in the “basic” models of the two series, the screen is replaced with an excellent QHD or FHD screen at 165 or 144 Hz: the dimensions of the panel itself also vary, equal to 17.3″ in the Defender line and 15″ .6″ in deputy computers. Finally, the two Crawler E30 and E40 represent the “entry level” of the Erazer laptop lineup for the coming months. The first is available in various configurations, containing a twelfth generation Intel Core i7 or i5 CPU and a choice of graphics between the GTX 1650 Laptop or the RTX 3050 and 3050 Ti Laptop from NVIDIA. However, the second can also be purchased with an Intel Core i7-13700H processor and with a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 6GB GPU for laptops, as well as with a RAM and storage of 32 GB and 1 TB respectively in the maximum configurations.
